28 Weeks

I finally remembered to take a belly shot of myself!
Exciting, I know.

Well, it's kind of exciting for me, because this is the cutest pregnant belly I've had with any of my pregnancies.  And yes, I think pregnant bellies can be cute, but normally mine don't look like this.
So here I am, 28 weeks, healthy baby kicking away - we're still assuming it's a girl {I say this because since the 16 week ultrasound I have had 3 others and this child refuses to show us the goods again}
So since this pregnancy has been so incredibly different, I'm refusing to take the tags off of things I've bought and order the bedding I want.
Because we all know someone who had an ultrasound, was told it was a girl, and come delivery day - SURPRISE!  It's a boy.
So, in 2 weeks I'm having yet another ultrasound and hopefully the jelly doughnut I eat beforehand will make this kid move around enough to get a clear shot.
I appreciate modesty in my children, but COME ON!!!

Tender Moments

This morning, after I got out of the shower, I heard Mya in my bedroom saying she was going to sleep in my bed.
I got dressed and combed through my hair and put it up in the way I do every morning before I blow dry it.
I came out of the bathroom to see her snuggled up with her B on my pillow reading a book.
I sat down by her, gave her a kiss, and told her good night.
She then put her chubby little Mya hands on my cheeks, put her face close to mine, and said in the sweetest little voice "Mommy....go make up your hair, Mommy".
Oh, the tender moments with my 2-year old.

Our Day of Love

Time for a list - here is what took place around here on the Day of Love, aka our Half-Anniversary {we got married 08-14}.

Valentines class party for Lo - she was so exited that they came with tattoos
Dozen roses from Target because Mya just had to have them
My first {and not last} visit to the Sweet Tooth Fairy to get some love treats for some special people {cake bites....oh, my, gosh.  I kind of need to forget I've ever had them because they are divine}
Schmidts sugar cookie
Beautiful bouquet of flowers from my lover {who also gave some to each of the girls.  He's the cutest daddy ever}
Heartburn
California Pizza Kitchen {the most romantic spot?  No.  But what pregnant wants, pregnant gets.  And pregnant wanted BBQ chicken pizza}
Laughing with my mother-in-law over funny stuff the girls did/said while we were gone
Snuggling on the couch watching HGTV and getting back ticklins, while listening to the girls goof around until after 10:00
It was a good night.  Epic?  No.  But good?  Yes.
Thanks again to Sherrie for volunteering to watch the kids for the evening.  We didn't expect to get to go out on actual V Day, so it was a nice surprise for her to offer.
I hope everyone had a happy lovers day as well!

Yes, I'm a Whiner

You know those days when you feel so completely overwhelmed with your life that you just feel like your brain is going to explode and you cry at the drop of a hat?
That's today.
Yes, I know my life could be much, much, much worse.
And I know my hormones are at a slightly heightened level.
But I feel like any minute I'm going to literally crumble to pieces.
Can I just get rid of work, school, callings, laundry, housework, just any and all things not relaxing for about a year?
That would be great.
I'm going to go and cry some more now.
And maybe throw a tantrum on my floor because I'm the mom and I can.

Quick Mya Update

Thanks everyone for the advice, I knew you would all have some fabulous suggestions for me!
And in true Mya fashion, the first night after that post she slept all through the night.
Of course.
I just think this is pure comedy, because the same thing happened after I posted about trouble getting her to sleep in her new bed.
So from now on, when I have a problem with her, I will immediately post about it.
And then the next day the problem will magically fix itself.
This just shows you what kind of kid Mya is - to say she keeps me on my toes is a bit of an understatement.

A Little Help, Please

So, at the ripe old age of 2 and a half, we finally got rid of Mya's binky.
We just cut the tip off before bedtime, and she recognized it was broken and threw it away.  Other than hearing "binky's broken" about a thousand times, she hasn't mentioned it.
But now, every night, in the middle of the night, she will start to whimper & cry.  One of us goes in her room {her eyes aren't even open} and rubs her back for a second and she's fine.
But this happens at least 5 times a night.
If she slept in her own room, I would just let her cry for a few minutes and leave her alone, but now that she's in with Lauren, I'm not really sure what to do.  Lauren sleeps through it most of the time, but if Mya wakes her up she has a really hard time going back to sleep.  It will sometimes take her at least an hour {she definitely gets this from me} to fall back asleep.
So I'm looking for some suggestions or tips.
Should we just let her cry and wake Lauren up, hoping that within a couple of days she won't be doing it anymore?
The thing I struggle with, is that Mya isn't even awake most of the time, she's crying in her sleep, so I'm not sure if this is a behavior that can be changed with letting her cry it out for a little bit.
Let me know what you think, Super Moms, because Bryan might not last the week {he jumps out of bed before I even realize she's crying, and with this ever growing belly I can't get up as fast as he does}.  He has not been a happy boy the last couple of days :(

January is OVER!!

I woke up today and noticed that for the first time in over 2 weeks I didn't have to blow my nose.  And it felt AWESOME!
And then I flipped over the date on my calendar and saw that it's February 1.
Ahhh, February.  That's why I'm better - because January is over.
So I'm very hopeful about February for these reasons:
1.  The never ending cold is gone
2.  Zofran is the greatest thing EVER and I finally feel like I can function on a day to day basis.
3.  Baby girl is kicking me like crazy all the time, which is my absolute most favorite part of being pregnant.
4.  Mya's binky is gone, and it wasn't even traumatic.
5.  Bryan is going out of town for a golf weekend.....you may be thinking "why are you looking forward to this?"  Because, my friends, the poor man hasn't been out of town for anything other than the occasional Scout overnighter in years and he deserves it.  And, let's be honest, I get to watch chick flicks & awful reality TV all weekend and order pizza every night if I want to.
6.  Bryan coming home from his golf weekend :)
7.  Valentine's Day - we don't have a track record of having the best Valentine's Days.  But every year we're determined to change that.
8.  One more ultrasound.  OK, I know that this is a girl.  But during the last ultrasound she REFUSED to show us her lady bits, and before I take the tags off of anything or order her super cute new bedding, I want to make sure she is a little lady.
9.  Potty training.  So, I'm really not looking forward to the process, just the end result.  I know this is going to be a fight, and I've been giving myself pep talks daily in preparation.
10.  Nesting.  I LOVE nesting.  Having the energy & desire to clean out closets, organize drawers, redecorate, I love it.  And I have been so sick that this house is in serious need of some nesting.

Welcome February, I'm so glad you're here!
