A Little Help, Please

So, at the ripe old age of 2 and a half, we finally got rid of Mya's binky.
We just cut the tip off before bedtime, and she recognized it was broken and threw it away.  Other than hearing "binky's broken" about a thousand times, she hasn't mentioned it.
But now, every night, in the middle of the night, she will start to whimper & cry.  One of us goes in her room {her eyes aren't even open} and rubs her back for a second and she's fine.
But this happens at least 5 times a night.
If she slept in her own room, I would just let her cry for a few minutes and leave her alone, but now that she's in with Lauren, I'm not really sure what to do.  Lauren sleeps through it most of the time, but if Mya wakes her up she has a really hard time going back to sleep.  It will sometimes take her at least an hour {she definitely gets this from me} to fall back asleep.
So I'm looking for some suggestions or tips.
Should we just let her cry and wake Lauren up, hoping that within a couple of days she won't be doing it anymore?
The thing I struggle with, is that Mya isn't even awake most of the time, she's crying in her sleep, so I'm not sure if this is a behavior that can be changed with letting her cry it out for a little bit.
Let me know what you think, Super Moms, because Bryan might not last the week {he jumps out of bed before I even realize she's crying, and with this ever growing belly I can't get up as fast as he does}.  He has not been a happy boy the last couple of days :(

We are trying to get rid of Beau's so I am interested to read any of your tips you get! We have talked about going and putting the binky into a special "binky bear" at build a bear for the transition but am not sure - I might try cutting the tip off tonight and see what happens - Now that we are in an apartment I am worried it will be traumatic and lots of crying to keep the neighbors up - Hmmm . . . . . .

Jacob had night terrors for years and at first they would wake up Zach, but he eventually learned to sleep through it. Since they're going to be together from now on, you might try a few nights of ignoring them both and see what happens. Kind of like sleep training for Mya and Lauren might be so tired after a while that she will sleep through it just from exhaustion. Daytimes will not be so fun though 'cuz they'll be cranky. :-) Just a thought though. Good luck! Getting up in the night is miserable when you're pregnant.

Non "supermom" response: Geez-I really have no idea. Don't hate me! Maybe watch how it goes for the next week? I'm a sleeper myself and it totally throws me when I have to stumble around in the night. Sorry!

That's great news for during the day though!

We have been trying to get rid of Kortnee's for awhile too. It seems like everytime we get it cut down to just bedtime and naps, then she gets sick and wants it all the time. At this point I don't care if she goes to college with it! LOL! Good luck with the sleeping. I hate getting up in the night!!

I think it's great that Mya just threw it away recoginzing that a broken binky just doesn't cut it, whew now your done before the little one comes and you don't have to worry about it. The night time whimpering is definately a hard one. If it were me I'd take the advice of whatever Strong Family member posted. Let Lo wake up a time or 2, she'll eventually get used to it and sleep through it and you don't Mya to count on having someone run in and rub her back and comfort her (even if it is in subconciousness)during this little whimper sessions or you'll be getting up every night with her for the rest of her life! And definately take a nap or rest time with them during the day! Good Luck!
